The past ten weeks, though they have been challenging with everything the world has thrown at us; from the impacts of Covid19 to major flooding and poorly coffee machines, it has been an absolute pleasure to be able to put a smile on our customers’ faces once again with a coffee, cake or well-missed special Canteen lunch.
Each week has presented us with new challenges, which we have taken in our stride and we’ve really enjoyed the journey so far!
When it comes to adhering to the ever-changing government guidelines on social distancing and hygiene, we’ve made sure that we put our brave masked-faces on. We keep a careful eye on our lovely customers to check that they too are social distancing and taking our one group at a time inside rules seriously, and following our one-way system around the restaurant and outdoor courtyard. We make sure to always have a bottle or two of anti-bacterial spray at hand, and use hand sanitiser religiously, almost like it’s going out of fashion!
We have felt completely overwhelmed with pride that so many people have come in and made their first lunch or coffee out-out a visit to the Canteen. It’s been lovely to have a good ol’ chit-chat with every person who comes through our doors, and we thank you for your patience and understanding when it comes to completing contact forms and understanding our table spacing efforts.
The team have been nothing short of incredible, working tirelessly day-in-day-out and making it look easy.
We are looking forward to continuing to welcome our amazing customers with non-contact air-hugs with both takeaway coffees and seated restaurant service.
