• A magical walking trail to light up our town

 

 

Hello!  We would like you to help us create a Window Wanderland in our town in February 2022.  This is a colourful, vibrant neighbourhood walking trail that can be enjoyed by the whole community.

 

We are asking the whole Nailsworth community, including yourselves and all local businesses, if they’d like to make a backlit ‘stained glass window’ display, facing the street. It is a simple technique using black paper and brightly coloured tissue paper. We will be running free workshops and providing materials to guide you through the process. Anyone can take part and your display can be as simple or complicated as you like. As long as it’s family friendly, anything goes!

 

The overall theme for Nailsworth Window Wanderland 2022 is ‘Out Of The Woods’, but feel free to create your own window with any theme you like.  The final result will be a grand, glowing, outdoor gallery of ‘stained glass windows’ for everyone to see for 3 evenings in February.  All the displays will be put onto a map for people to follow. This event is fun, creative, inclusive and gives everyone a chance to explore the neighbourhood after dark, and enjoy it in a whole new light.

 

How can you get involved?

We would like you to help by:

1. Promoting this event through your own network and helping people to participate — we want everyone to get the chance to take part
2. Making a window display in your home or shop window — we will be running drop-in workshops to inspire everyone and provide free materials, Saturday 8th January 1.30-4.30pm and Sunday 16th January 10-3pm at Nailsworth Town Hall
3. There will be 3 displays made by local community groups, and we will be looking for a town centre window for these
4. Leafleting for publicity and distributing free material packs
