Last year we held our first ever Nailsworth Transport Festival, with Nailsworth CAN and because of its success we are running the festival again – on Sunday, June 25th – We will be running from Nailsworth Bus Station and the centre of Nailsworth in Old Market Road  from 10.30am until 6.30pm and we will feature an incredible range of vehicles, from a 1920s locally-built ‘Hampton’ to state-of-the-art electric cars and bikes.

Organised by Nailsworth CAN (Climate Action Network) and Nailsworth Chamber of Trade & Commerce, the day will include market stalls selling local food and drink, handmade gifts, and entertainment.

‘A transport fair is the perfect way to demonstrate how vehicles have changed over the years, and a great place for visitors to ask questions of experts on sustainability,’ said Sarah Martin of the chamber.

‘The aim is for people to have a fantastic time, but also to show how action on climate today will help make positive differences.’

Among the classics will be a sidecar manufactured by the Baughan company based in Stroud from 1921-37. Alongside vintage vehicles, electric car ‘s and bike’s will be on show – with information on other environmentally friendly products – will demonstrate transport and sustainability at their most compatible.

Other entertainment will be provided by Nailsworth Silver Band and Nailsworth Choir, and many more surprises throughout the day.

Shoppers can enjoy a local food and craft market, with face-painting for children.

And don’t forget our wonderful array of local shop’s many of them will be open and looking forward to welcoming you into the town.

‘We see the festival as a way of sharing upcoming projects, and for members of the public to contribute their own ideas, too,

‘We all need to start making choices that will help the planet, and ensure a healthy present and future for our children.’

Nailsworth Transport Festival will run from 10.30am-6.30pm in the town centre.
