Community Fire and Rescue Station Nailsworth

A Big Thank You to our wonderful Community Fire and Rescue Crew, who came to help John Pettitt and Sarah Martin from the Nailsworth Chamber of Trade.

The Chamber had purchased 150 Sand Bags and hired industrial dehumidifiers to help the shop keepers who suffered from the floods of the night before. And our community firefighters worked tirelessly lifting and shifting, working around the whole of Nailsworth securing shop fronts, and delivering the dehumidifiers to where they were needed the most. We really would not have been able to do this without your support, each and everyone of you are truly amazing.

The weather yesterday was very worrying, with more heavy rain forecast, and after the flood we had on the 16th June the Chamber was determined to make sure that the shops were to be protected if the heavens opened up again.

Luckily today we have had a steady fall of rain but no torrential downpours like we had on Tuesday afternoon, and the sand bags are keeping the water out.

Nailsworth is the most amazing Town, the phone calls and emails the Chamber has received the last couple of days have been heart warming, people offering there time to help clean up and when dried out to come and help paint shops and put right where needed.

We have also had some very generous donations which will go towards the costs of the sand bags and dehumidifiers.

We now as a community need to continue to support our local shops more than ever and this weekend is forecast to be warm and sunny so come out and visit our shops and there lovely traders, they will all be their waiting to greet you.
